F3 have had a great time with the Elmer story. They imitated the story to great success and could read the whole story with just a few picture cues. Next they innovated the story as a class. This then lead onto them inventing their own stories using story maps. They changed the characters and other elements of the story. We then invited parents in to see them tell the Elmer story and to share their own. This was a great way to engage with the parents and the parents were so impressed with the children’s use of story language.
